Project need
This paid parking system at Tekirdağ province's central bus terminal, in line with the terminal's specific use case, needed to admit only authorized public-transport vehicles (buses/minibuses) and keep ordinary cars out of the lot.
Solution implemented
The most distinctive part of the entry setup is vehicle-type detection: sensors mounted on the ground and on poles detect the size of the passing vehicle (bus vs. car/minibus); a dedicated electronic card listening to these sensors passes the signal to the plate-recognition software. The software runs on rule-based logic: it allows buses and minibuses through, but won't open the barrier for an ordinary car. At the exit, the fee calculated from parked duration is shown on an LED display; payment is taken via a Beko cash register or in cash, and the vehicle exits once payment is completed. Our take: unlike the site's other parking projects, this one automatically distinguishes vehicle type, not just plate — since the hardware (ground/pole sensor plus a dedicated electronic card) and the software (rule-based transit logic) had to be designed together, it's an engineering-heavier project.
Benefit delivered
Only authorized public-transport vehicles are automatically allowed into the terminal; billing and payment collection run quickly and without error, and manual-check workload has been eliminated.
