Direct answer: A weighbridge LPR system reads the plate automatically when the vehicle drives onto the scale, links the weighing result to that plate and a vehicle image, and transfers the record to your ERP. Since operators no longer type plates by hand, wrong vehicle–wrong weight matches and duplicate tickets disappear.
How does it work?
One LPR camera is positioned per weighbridge. When the vehicle is on the platform, a loop detector or photocell triggers the plate read; the weight from the scale indicator is written to the same record. Entry (loaded) and exit (empty) weighings are merged on the same plate and net weight is calculated automatically. With optional barrier integration, a vehicle cannot leave the site before its weighing is complete.
Where is it used?
Mines and aggregate quarries, cement and ready-mix plants, recycling/scrap yards, logistics warehouses, factory raw-material acceptance points and truck parks are typical sites. Our reference list includes sites with weighbridge plate-reading integration.
ERP and reporting
Weighing records are stored with plate, date, time, gross/tare/net weight and a vehicle image; they can be exported as PDF/Excel or transferred to ERP/accounting software via API. Suspicious operations (the same plate weighed again within a short interval, for example) can be audited from the records.

Frequently asked questions
How does it communicate with the scale indicator?
Weight data received from the indicator over serial port or network is written into the same record as the plate read, simultaneously.
Is manual plate entry completely eliminated?
Yes, the plate is read automatically; the operator only corrects records in exceptional cases such as muddy or damaged plates.
Are entry and exit weighings matched automatically?
Loaded and empty weighings of the same plate are matched automatically and net weight is calculated by the system.
Can data be transferred to our existing ERP?
Yes, weighing records can be transferred to ERP/accounting software via API or database integration.
Does reading work on dusty and muddy sites?
Camera position and IR lighting are engineered per site; an operator-approved exception flow is defined for unreadable plates.
