
Project need
This multi-block residential project has two separate entry points (Gate A and Gate B); the goal was to let residents and predefined guest vehicles enter through either gate without a card or remote — while keeping it all trackable from a single central management point.
Solution implemented
Two cameras were installed at each of Gate A and Gate B (4 cameras in total) for plate reading. The captured plate data feeds into a single PC and its SQL database at the site's central location; management can view and report on all vehicle traffic from one point, regardless of which gate a vehicle used. Security staff are present at the gates — while the plate-reading layer works automatically, the decision in exception cases (an unrecognized vehicle, admitting a guest, etc.) still rests with the guard. It's not full automation, but a model where people and automation work together.
Benefit delivered
The system has run without interruption for 7 years, with technical support continuing throughout — showing that this kind of multi-gate, centrally-databased architecture holds up over the long term. Because both gates' data converges on one center, management has full visibility, and the security staff's decision workload has also dropped.
